Have upgraded to iOS 9, but your iOS device is running too slow because storage is full or iPhone/iPad/iPod is full of junk? For 16GB iPhone or iPad, there is not really with 16GB storage, instead, it's more like 13 GB capacity. In this case, your iDevice will be easier under the saturation condition with too much data existed. So, let’s embark on doing something to boost iOS 9. The following steps will make your iOS 9 free up space effectively. Check them right now!

Delete Apps You Don’t Use

Sometimes, we just follow the trend about a new app. Downloading and installing it only for temporally experience, as everyone else now are playing it. But, later, the App is forgotten by most amounts of people and just lonely stays in your iPhone. So, under such circumstance, why not delete such kind of Apps that you don’t often use to free up your iOS 9 space? As you should know, maybe one or two unused Apps only take up a few megabytes, but if with more Apps, megabytes can be added up to gigabytes pretty quickly. So, free space from iOS 9 by starting deleting your unneeded Apps.

Now, go to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage under Storage. This shows you a list of apps that are taking the space on your iOS 9. Choose the useless Apps to delete by taping the “Delete App” button on the next screen. Or, from the Home screen, tap and hold the app icon and wait for it to wiggle. Then tap the “X” in the upper right-hand corner to delete the App.

Note: Especially games take up much space due to some 3-D graphics, so, if you’re not a game player, just delete all games on your iOS 9.

Offload Music, Photos and Videos

It’s time to manage your music and videos. Keeping a bunch of music, photos or videos on your iPhone is a sure way to run out of storage space. In fact, some music that you definitely don’t listen to, certain photos that you rarely see, several videos that you will never watch, now, get them rid of your iOS 9 at once together. In this way, your iOS 9 will not be such narrow as before.

Stop Using My Photo Stream

As My Photo Stream automatically syncs your photos across all of your devices connected via your iCloud account, this could gobble up a large amount of storage space on your iOS 9. Unless you have a burning need for syncing photos, turn My Photo Stream off.

Under Settings, scroll down to Photos & Camera and toggle off My Photo Stream.

Set Messages to Auto-Delete

With time passed by, there are certainly a lot of messages stored on your iOS 9. Some are with photos; some are with videos; even some messages are there over a year. Check out if they are really meaningful to be there in your iOS 9. If not, just go ahead to delete all the related unneeded messages manually. Or there is one option much easier than manually deleting old threads.

Go to Settings > Messages. Under Keep Message, select 30 days or 1 year. Accordinly, iOS 9 system will automatically delete messages for you after 30 days or 1 year according to your choice.

Delete Voicemail Messages

This is the last space saver tip that must be mentioned. Apple’s Visual Voicemails can quickly take up a lot of space on your iPhone if you never delete any of them. So, after you listened to the voicemail message, and got other’s points, you may then directly delete it. To delete individual Visual Voicemails, go to the Phone app then tap on the Voicemail button. Find the voicemail you want to delete and then swipe left on it and tap the red Delete button.
